Academics

Giving our best at every stage of every student’s journey.

At FCA, we recognize that every stage of a student’s development is integral to their overall development, performance, and future success. Click below to learn how we approach the various areas on the spectrum of education.

Early Education

Pre-Kindergarten Classes

Pre-Kindergarten classes meet Monday-Thursdays from 8:20am-12:30pm for children who are 3 1/2 to 4 years of age by September 5th of the enrolling academic year. Our Pre-Kindergarten classes focus on Kindergarten readiness skills such as: upper case and lower case letters, reading short vowel words, counting and beginning math skills,
communicating verbally, developing fine motor skills, with an emphasis on STEM activities. The Biblical component of our academic program includes daily worship, Bible stores, activities, and memory verses. Occasional field trips and classroom visitors enhance our program by providing students the opportunity to gain an understanding of community relationships and service. Pre-Kindergarten classes are limited to 8 students for the finest experience.

Kindergarten Classes

Kindergarten classes meet weekly from 8:20am-3:00pm, for children who will be at least 5 years of age by September 5th of the enrolling academic year. Our outstanding academic program cultivates skills that are needed for a successful transition into 1st grade. Students focus on readiness skills such as uppercase and lower cast letters, reading words, identifying blends, writing sentences, developing fine motor skills, math number skills, and more. Specials include Physical Education, Music, Art, and Library. Kindergarten classes are limited to 10 students for the finest experience.

Elementary Education

Elementary classes meeting Monday-Friday, 8:20am-3:00pm. Our gifted elementary teachers desire to see their students succeed. Curriculum such as Abeka and BJU Press enable our teachers to instruct on concepts that are grade-level appropriate.

Students in the elementary grades enjoy reading about various missionaries through books authored by Renee Taft Meloche with YWAM Publishing, while students in the upper elementary grades read missionary books by Janet and Geoff Benge with Christian Heroes, Then & Now. We incorporate the IOWA based standardized testing to measure student growth and receive feedback on progress within the classroom. FCA students consistently average above their grade level in every grade.

Junior High and High School Education

Junior high and high school classes meet weekly from 8:20am-3:00pm. These formative years help model and shape the individual student for life beyond high school. We give students a vision for leadership and train them to view every part of their world through a Biblical lens. The PSAT, SAT, and ACT provide accurate feedback on the students’ growth during their high school years. The Biblical component focuses on an intentional progression through the scriptures including survey of the Old and New Testament and culminating with a senior apologetics and research class. Students are also given the opportunity to travel abroad for an Israel study-tour.
